The library is open before and after school for you to check out books or have a quiet place to get work done. 

There will be lots of opportunities for you to keep busy after school!  In addition to the Clubs and Athletics below:

  • Homework club - most days until 3:05
  • Drama & musical productions
  • Clubs
     

Listen to homeroom announcements, or read your email announcements daily for updates on what’s happening around school! 

There is a late bus on Tuesdays & Thursdays that drops you at your elementary school.

DMS offers a variety of Afterschool Clubs and activities for students to connect with fellow peers, engage in service projects, leadership opportunities, or topics they are passionate about beyond the school day.

Faculty advisors oversee each Club and students are encouraged to attend, participate and join in throughout the year.

For the upcoming 25-26 school year, Dedham Middle School will be transitioning away from offering interscholastic athletics - meaning we will not have Middle School Cross Country and Spring Track competing against other school districts. This decision was made with careful consideration, looking at all the other athletic options available to our students, and while recognizing the meaningful role that athletics play in student development—fostering physical wellness, teamwork, and school spirit. On occasion we do utilize MIAA MIddle Level Waivers (8th Grade), when participation numbers warrant, making it possible for some 8th graders to participate with our teams at Dedham High School.

While interscholastic sports will no longer be available at DMS, Intramural sports, clubs, and other enrichment activities will remain in place, providing students with fun, inclusive ways to stay active, build friendships, and discover new interests outside the classroom.

We are confident that these programs will continue to support the holistic development of our students, and we remain committed to creating a vibrant and supportive middle school experience for all.
